I used to look forward to my weekly lessons with Dr Liakos. His knowledge of Physics, Electronics and Mathematics was both impressive and inspiring. It would not be an exaggeration to say that Dr Liakos was one of the main inspirations for me to go on to further study Electrical Engineering at Cambridge University. I would highly recommend him to anyone wanting to improve their grades and knowledge in this area.

Dr Liakos taught me for A Level Physics and Further Maths. It made all the difference to me. My school syllabus was a new one at the time with very little foundational building blocks of physics that enable one to grow in their understanding. Dr Liakos worked from the ground up and took me further than the syllabus. I felt I really understood the concepts and didn’t just learn things by rote. I grew in confidence and in my ability in a subject that was definitely not my natural fit! Somehow I managed to finish top in Physics and went on to study Medicine at Cambridge. I have no doubt I would not have got the results I got if it weren’t for Dr Liakos!

I enjoyed weekly physics tutoring sessions with Dr Liakos whilst studying for my GCSEs and A-levels. He is incredibly patient, engaging and has an infectious enthusiasm for the subject. Every session was tailored to the specific area I wished to focus on, usually something I’d struggled to grasp that week in school, but links were made to previous sessions and real life application which inspired me to keep learning. Thanks to Dr Liakos I achieved an A* at GCSE, A at A-level and went on to study veterinary medicine at the Royal Veterinary College.

I cannot thank Dr Liakos enough for the help, support and encouragement provided to me throughout my A-Level maths and physics tutoring sessions. The well structured and targeted sessions enabled me to grow in confidence, ensure a deep understanding of the subject matter, and develop sound problem solving techniques. The passion and inspiration Dr Liakos has for his subjects was most certainly passed on and I was able to pursue my studies to degree level and now enjoy working in these fields.

John helped me properly understand some tricky concepts in physics, as opposed to just teaching me how to answer exam questions. He really knows his stuff and has an infectious enthusiasm for his subject. Although John tutored me for my A levels, I still found what he'd taught me useful when I went on to study physics at university.

When my son started struggling with his A level maths and further maths, a friend recommended Mr Liakos, who she said had been great for her child. I worried, as my son has ASD/ADHD and needed a calm and supportive environment, and as he was learning in person it would involve a visit to another house, which was a major step for him. I didn't need to worry, Mr Liakos created the perfect environment for him to work 1-2-1 and he enabled my son to understand the points he so often missed in a busy classroom setting. My son passed his maths A levels with great grades thanks to Mr Liakos' help and is now studying physics at university. He still has online sessions, where needed, to help clarify points, and this support from Mr Liakos continues to boost my son's confidence in his own abilities.
